When someone wrongs us, the natural response is often to retaliate. The flesh cries out for justice revenge feels like the only way to make things right. But Jesus calls us to a higher standard. In Matthew 5:44, He says, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” That is the true opposite of revenge: not apathy, but love. Not avoidance, but intercession. Forgiveness is not weakness it’s Christlikeness. When we choose mercy over vengeance, we reflect the heart of God Himself. Our response becomes a testimony to the supernatural grace that lives within us.
As followers of Christ here at Our Christian Walk Ministry, we are not called to settle scores we are called to settle hearts. West Palm Beach is watching how we live. Will we mirror the world, or model the cross? Let us be a people known not for our grudges, but for our grace. The world says “get even.” Jesus says “forgive seventy times seven.” The opposite of revenge isn’t passive it’s powerful. It transforms pain into peace and conflict into compassion. May we walk that road daily, for His glory.
