We have a missions team in Nicaragua ran by Mark Albright and Brenda Albright which have helped Our Christian Walk Ministry plant 5 churches in this region.

My father ran an inner city youth center in PIttsburgh ghetto. He raised $1000000 thru Heinz, Gulf Oil Alcoa. The most he ever paid himself was $8000″all for the kids”, He had 2000 kids day, free daycare, remedial reading, job placement. Christian Boy Scouts and sports and Bible. I taught Bible there 6 years in high school and college.
I first went to Nicaragua in 2008 and fell in llove with the poor but happy people. I went back in 2011, and the pastor leader introduced me to Brenda on return . Brenda is retired Nica army and CONNECTED. Her bosses are all now generals and she speaks to them every day. This allows us to get things done.
We planted our first church, Calvario Nicaragua in 2012. They had a shell and we tiled and painted. Since then, we have added Sunday School rooms bathrooms, fans and sound equipment. Calvario now has approx 40 kids every Sunday at 8 and 4 adult services with approx 60 people, all of whom walk to church.
To understand Nica, it is as poor as Haiti. 30% of our people have no electricity, another third no water(have to lug from well). Since there are no cars, how far will people walk to church? About 3 miles with kids in tow.
In 2013, we heard of a mountain church with a great pastor but NO ROOF(rain?), dirt floors, no walls. We “adopted” that church (Smyrna)and put roof on, tiled, painted and sound equipment.
In 2019, we planted a third church with the help of Pastor Adam and his wife Randi. They had only a shell, no walls and the before and after pictures are incredible. Abba Padre is on the”bad” part of town where convicts are forced to live after release. This church is doing very well and we were pleased to have Pastor Adam preach there Christmas 2024.
In 2021, we began partnering with Allianz Missions(US Christian Missionary Alliance). These 100 pastors do a mission trip once a month all over Central America. We provide scholarships and food for the teams where an average of 1000 people get saved in a week of evangelism. We went on one of their trips to the poor mountains of Matagalpa in north Nica. They are so poor the kids do not even go to school. They collect water bottles with their mother. There is a church on top of the mountain that feeds the entire town every day at 1 oclock. To see the kids faces as the only meal of the day is heartbreaking. Reminding us how good our Father is to us.
This has led us to 3 more church plants, Bethel, another mountain church about 7 miles away, another church in Rivas about 25 miles away, and El Palabra de Dios about 4 hours away.
We do evangelism and help the poor when and where we can.We also do pinatas and birthday cakes once a month.
We have also partnered with Christian AA in a coourt mandated halfway house camp.
God is at work with these poor humble people and we are very excited about our Allianz missions. We have also been able to help with wheelchairs and funeral arrangements. Every Christmas we do a “birthday present for Jesus’ where we give food baskets to over 120 families.
